A visa for a longer stay, a so-called stay permit, can be issued for a duration of up to one year and extended upon application; there is also a visa that permits multiple entries during the period of one year. Stay permits must be endorsed by the Foreign Investment Commission or the Ministry concerned.
Children above seven years of age, even when included on their parents’ passport, must have their own visas.

Dress in Burma is casual but neat, Unless you are conducting business in Yangon, you won’t be expected to wear a tie anywhere. Quick-drying clothes are a good idea for visits during the rainy season or Thingyan (the “Water festival”). There is no law against shorts or short skirts, but this type of clothing is not welcomed by the Burmese.
A sweater or jacket should be carried if you plan a visit to the hill
